West Ham secured an impressive victory in midweek after sweeping Cardiff City aside at the London Stadium with a 3-1 win, following on from their triumph against Newcastle United at the weekend.
Back-to-back wins for the first time in the Premier League this season have increased the confidence in East London heading into a busy festive season, although not all of the news emerging from the club is positive.
The Hammers have seen summer signing Jack Wilshere suffer another injury setback after missing the clash with the Bluebirds and Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the latest problem for the England international after the match.
Since signing on a free transfer from Arsenal in the summer, Wilshere has played just five times in the Premier League for Pellegrini’s side and has a lot of work to do to prove himself to the supporters – who are growing increasingly frustrated.
