Heading to Goodison Park yesterday, for what was a crucial Premier League fixture, after losing our opening four games, the statistics suggested that the Hammers faced a tough task to get anything from the game.

But, the injury to Jack Wilshere allied with a subtle change in formation, saw the Hammers produce a performance that was worthy of the 3-1 win.

However, it appears that in winning up in the north-west, the record books show that, just perhaps, a win was always going to be on the cards.
