West Ham’s 2018-19 campaign has certainly been a rollercoaster ride for the supporters, with the Hammers struggling during the first few months before showing a superb resurgence in the past few weeks.
December has been a breeze for Manuel Pellegrini’s side so far, who started their run of form with a victory on the road against Newcastle United before seeing off both Cardiff City and Crystal Palace back at the London Stadium.
Rock-bottom Fulham were the latest to be crushed by the Hammers on Saturday as goals from Robert Snodgrass and Michail Antonio heaped further misery upon Claudio Ranieri’s side at Craven Cottage, with West Ham extending their winning streak to four matches.
28-year-old Antonio had initially struggled to make an impact at the start of the campaign, attracting regular criticism from supporters after lacklustre displays, but has improved significantly in recent weeks and has now scored in back-to-back Premier League games.
That left many supporters on Twitter eating humble pie and they have heaped praise upon him. We have gathered some of their comments below.
I’ve been very critical of you over the last few seasons. But in the last week or so you’ve shut me up and long may it continue ⚒
