Another Talented West Ham Youngster Could Be Heading For The Exit Door

|

The signing, earlier this week, for a club record fee, of Issa Diop could have ramifications when it comes to the future of one of our impressive teenagers.

Last season, in what were troubled times, Declan Rice found himself thrust into the spotlight.

The 19-year-old, given a chance to start, impressed at the heart of the Hammers defence.

However, whilst the Irishman flourished it appears that there have been contractual shenanigans going on behind the scene.

To that effect, it is being reported by the news source, the Sun, Declan is the subject of transfer interest from two of our Premier League rivals, with the duo being Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.

Furthermore, our referenced source also points out that the arrival of Issa Diop has pushed Rice down the Hammers pecking order.

The combination of the above points could see Rice join a long line of promising youngsters that have left the club for pastures new.

If that is the case it’ll be a crying shame, following the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini the club looks to be set for an upturn in fortunes, our belief is that Declan Rice should be part of that future and not be yet another youngster who has been cast adrift and someone who’ll flourish elsewhere and prove what a huge mistake we could be set to make.
