West Ham are still struggling to find their rhythm under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini after their winless streak was extended to four matches in all competitions following last night’s EFL Cup defeat to Tottenham.

Goals on either side of the half-time whistle from Heung-Min Son gave Tottenham an advantage and any chance of a late fightback after Lucas Perez came off the bench to tap home was wiped away when Fernando Llorente added his name to the scoresheet.

The defensive performance of West Ham was once again poor, with the Hammers keeping just two clean sheets in 13 matches across all competitions this season, and Arthur Masuaku was singled out for particular criticism.

Masuaku has been a regular in Pellegrini’s side this season, playing twice in the EFL Cup and missing just two of West Ham’s opening 10 Premier League fixtures, but plenty of fans on social media made it clear they have had enough.

We have gathered some of the best reactions below.

  • David gold.
Pelle gets paid millions a year and who is reviewing each player after each game .
Arthur has a very bad and lazy attitude .
Do you not pay pelle good money to point out the obvious

  • Pay me pelle salary for 1 week and I’ll pick the team of players who give it 100% or close to
Fabi.. zaba balbuena diop creswell. Rice . Snoddy. Obiang Anderson… arnatovic…………. ( I may try see how Hernandez goes for first half then sub him for Antonio at half time 100% win or losing . Orrrrr take off Hernandez and play fredericks just in front of zaba ……
Frederick’s can run / tackle and swing in balls other ….which leaves zaba still at defence .
