West Ham are still struggling to find their rhythm under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini after their winless streak was extended to four matches in all competitions following last night’s EFL Cup defeat to Tottenham.
Goals on either side of the half-time whistle from Heung-Min Son gave Tottenham an advantage and any chance of a late fightback after Lucas Perez came off the bench to tap home was wiped away when Fernando Llorente added his name to the scoresheet.
The defensive performance of West Ham was once again poor, with the Hammers keeping just two clean sheets in 13 matches across all competitions this season, and Arthur Masuaku was singled out for particular criticism.
Masuaku has been a regular in Pellegrini’s side this season, playing twice in the EFL Cup and missing just two of West Ham’s opening 10 Premier League fixtures, but plenty of fans on social media made it clear they have had enough.
We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
Antonio, ogbonna, obiang, masuaku and I’ll even say chicharito I would happily see leave in January. The younger lads have some real talent.

Left back is so weak. Arthur just forgets where he is.

Masuaku. How many more mistakes leading to a goal is he going to make before we drop and sell him? https://t.co/g76mvjXoKS
