West Ham have endured a turbulent few seasons since moving to the London Stadium and the early results in 2018-19 led to some concerns that another tough campaign was around the corner.
However, Manuel Pellegrini’s side have started December superbly by securing consecutive victories against Newcastle United, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace – surging up the standings as a result.
The likes of Felipe Anderson and Issa Diop have quickly established themselves as fan favourites at the club, while Declan Rice and Marko Arnautovic are amongst those who continue to be vital assets to the side.
For players like Rice and Diop, who have plenty of years ahead of them, there is always the chance that they come become legends if things go well – which fits quite fittingly with a discussion some fans have had on social media this week.
One supporter started a discussion surrounding who has established that status at the club already and we have gathered some of their responses.
Devonshire, Di Canio & my personal favourite from the sixties John Sissons. Never saw them play of course but Vic Watson, Jimmy Ruffell & Ernie Gregory we’re also legends.

Vic Watson scores more goals for the club than anyone and no one will ever surpass that.
“Legend” is subjective as most of the time it’s a generational thing so Dicks and Di Canio will be considered by some.
I think that team who one the Cup Winners Cup must be considered.

What, No Ray Stewart? Always felt safe with him on Pen duties.

I think Alan Taylor for his 2 FA Cup Final goals in 1975 has to go in there.
With 670 appearances I’d also put forward Frank Lampard Snr.
My third woul be Paolo.— David (@dockcopper) December 13, 2018
