Down on the south-coast West Ham made it three pre-season friendly victories in a row.

In a match that doubled up as a testimonial for Bournemouth`s Stephen Purches, two first half goals were enough to give West Ham a victory.

The first Hammers goal came from Kevin Nolan when he headed home a cross from Guy Demel, ten minutes before the half time break whilst the second, on the stroke of half time, came when Jack Collison rounded the keeper and slotted home.

The summer heat-wave meant that Sam Allardyce was able to utilize several of his substitutes as the action became less frenetic in the second half courtesy of players tiring in the heat.

Nevertheless, it was a good work out and a win is always useful when it comes to confidence building is it not!
