Hammers Match Zone

A Change Could Be As Good As A Rest For West Ham United

|

Three games into the new Premier League season and everybody is a little stunned at how quickly our pre-season aspirations have been quashed.

Defeats against Liverpool (a), Bournemouth (h) and Arsenal (a) have resulted in the Hammers occupying the bottom position in the Premier League table, not something anyone would have anticipated after the huge summer expenditure.

However, this week, on Tuesday evening, the Hammers get the chance to boost the confidence in the squad by getting a first win of the season when they take on AFC Wimbledon in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Although the Carabao Cup is often seen as a second-rate competition and one in which top-flight clubs play their fringe and young players, we should not forget it culminates in a Wembley Final, something we’d love to experience.

Here at Vital West Ham, we’d like to see Manuel Pellegrini field a strong side against our League One opposition at Kingsmeadow, it is essential that we don’t add to our misery by slipping to defeat with Pellegrini having selected a weakened side, that would have a devastating effect on our already fragile confidence.

Ahead of the game, we are able to bring you the names of those officiating:
