£4.5m bargain: West Ham fans should be excited about imminent target following int’l performance – Opinion

West Ham United are thought to be completing a deal for Fenerbache’s Hasan Ali Kaldirim imminently (Fanatik) and fans would have surely been excited by what they saw during the latest round of international match ups.

The left-back was in action for Turkey against France on Saturday night as they managed to upset the World Cup winners with a 2-0 victory in the group stage of their 2020 European Championship Qualifiers.

Many of us may have had doubts as to whether he would be a quality addition because of his age – he turns 30 next season – however, he appeared to put many of them to bed as he showed that he can still compete with the best and frustrate them for 90 minutes.

As per Get French Football News on Twitter, Kaldirim managed to shut out a certain Kylian Mbappe all night and made him look rather anonymous at times as France just could not get him into the game.

If that performance is anything to go by and he does sign for us, West Ham will, perhaps, have a quality left-back on their hands for a few years to come.

A transfer fee thought to be around €5million (£4.5m) (Fanatik) would be a complete steal for Kaldirim this summer and could prove to be a bargain for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

With how Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku have both played over the last season, we have looked a little vulnerable at times on the left, however, the experienced Turkey international would surely help us to tighten that area of the pitch up and make it a nightmare for attackers in the future.
