3 Things Pellegrini Must Do at West Ham

|

With a new manager on board, a manager who has a proven track record when it comes to success, including winning the Premier League title with Manchester City, here at Vital West Ham we’ve thought of 3 things Manuel Pellegrini has to do in the first few months of his tenure as the manager of West Ham United Football Club.

Firstly, Pellegrini has to get to grips with the squad, the Chilean has to assess who is up for the task of taking the club to a higher level and who isn’t. If it means some hard and unpopular decisions have to be made then so be it. We cannot afford to have a repeat of last season where the club flirted with relegation and was in disarray.

Secondly, Pellegrini has to insist that the club are bold in the transfer market, targets have to be identified that will make us a better side, give the side balance, power and pace. It’s no use just adding players of a similar quality we currently have, we need to improve, we need to move forward and look towards a top-eight finish if Burnley can do it then why can’t West Ham United?

Thirdly, Pellegrini has to get the team off to a good start when it comes to the 2018 / 2019 Premier League season, a first-day win would set the tone nicely. But, we’re realistic enough to accept that a lot will depend on the fixture computer and knowing the way our luck has been going we could be unfortunate enough to be given a trip to Manchester City for our first game. But, if we can amass 7 or 8 points from our first four games it will provide a solid platform for our season to be built upon.
