West Ham have struggled for consistency so far this season and have lost six of their opening 12 Premier League matches.
The Hammers splashed over £100m under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini in the summer but have so far failed to utilise their quota of new additions to provide a significant boost on the field.
However, there have been some bright sparks from the performances of the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Declan Rice and Felipe Anderson but those displays are not going unnoticed from rival clubs.
19-year-old academy graduate Rice sees his future surrounded by a wealth of speculation as the club have failed to secure the teenager to a new long-term deal, despite the fact he has developed into a crucial asset already.
Some of the latest speculation states that Manchester United are interested in a deal for the starlet, who is also involved in an international tug-of-war between the Republic of Ireland and England, which has led fans to react on social media.
We have gathered some of their reactions below.
If two clubs come in for him, it’ll take him about 4 years to decide who to play for….so we’ll get to keep him by default.

If he goes, board will have a lot to answer for.

Declan Rice will inevitably be a target for all the big clubs either now or very soon due to the standard he performs every single game he plays. Most comfortable youth player when on the ball we have had come through the youth system since Carrick. Key player for us already.

We have to keep him. He is our new Bobby Moore

If we let him go it will go down as one of the biggest mistakes West Ham have made signing wise

If he leaves because of this, the owners will have no way of coming back from that
