West Ham United and strikers are a match that just don’t seem to be made for each other. The Irons have tried so many options and it seems that none have made the grade, or at least very few have, and Lucas Perez was one of those in his single season with the Hammers.

The Spanish forward had one season at West Ham, scoring six goals in 19 games and just three in the Premier League before leaving the Premier League for his homeland in La Liga where he joined Alaves, and now he’s a target for Barcelona.
Perez is in no way a bad player. He knows what he’s good at and he does just that, yet the Hammers never gave him a real chance, and now that he’s had a run of games and a proper chance at Alaves he’s shown his talents, and AS are reporting that he’s a 25m euro target for Barcelona, who are desperately in need of a forward.

The Irons are a mix of frustrated and shocked by these rumours, and who can blame them given their awful record with signing goalscorers.
